But when the Comforter is come, whom I will sendunto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: – John 15:26
This is another verse Muslims love to quote to prove that Muhammad was indeed prophesied by the prophets in the Bible according to the Qur’an 7:157. Here are other ones:Deuteronomy 18:18 and John 14:16-17, 26.
So let’s examine this (Please notice the underlined words):
a/. “The Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father.”
Jesus said that He is the One who will send the Comforter; from THE FATHER. Do Muslims believe that Jesus sent Muhammad? Was Muhammad from the Father (God)? I don’t think so!
Jesus also called God, His Father. Do Muslims believe this? No.
b/.The SPIRIT of truth, which proceedeth from the Father.
Jesus again said that the Comforter is the spirit (Spirit of truth), and that He (the Comforter) proceeds from the Father.
Did Muhammad proceed from the Father (God)? Is Allah a Father to Muhammad? (Answer that to yourselves Muslims).
Firstly, I think that Muslims should rethink before using this passage to justify their claim in the future because it simply makes them look very bad. Secondly, Muslims who use this verse to justify Muhammad’s prophet-hood stand condemned of eternal damnation. According to Jesus, anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit shall never be forgiven (Mark 3:28-30), but is in danger of eternal damnation.
The Bible describes Muhammad as a false prophet:
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. – Matthew 7:15
This verse fits Muhammad perfectly well. He was all about peace when he had just few followers in Mecca (Qur’an 2:256, Qur’an109); but when he became powerful enough and had more followers, he slaughtered anyone who disagreed with him (Qur’an 9:5, 29; 3:85, Sahih Muslim 30-33).
If he truly brought a true message from God, then why would he agree with what other people believed (Qur’an 2:256; 109:1-6) that were false? In the Bible, the Prophets were persecuted and even killed because they didn’t negotiate/compromise with what others believed when it comes to God’s words.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. – 1 John 2:22
According to this verse, Muhammad is a liar and antichrist thus makes him a false prophet by saying that Jesus is not the Son of God (Qur’an 9:29-30).
6. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. – Galatians 1: 6-8
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. – 2 Corinthians 11:4
Paul calls anyone who preaches another doctrine that contradicts the one in the Bible about Jesus, to be cursed, which Muhammad is since he claimed Jesus not to be the Son of God (Qur’an 9:29-30) and that He didn’t die on the Cross (Qur’an 4:157).
Muhammad is in the Bible, not as a true prophet but a false one.
